Don Crosby

Hospice Advisory Board President

Don has been connected with Hospice for many years starting about 1998 as a volunteer bookkeeper. He is near the end of his fourth three-year term on the board of directors. Don is a graduate of the University of Missouri (BS-Business Administration) and Sacred Heart School of Theology (Masters Divinity). He is employed by the City of Kirksville as Human Resources Director. His previous professional experience includes priesthood, healthcare administration, and bank operations. He enjoys being the “numbers geek” on the board. When not busy, Don can be found curled up watching TV or reading a book with his faithful feline companion Kate.

Angie Sullivan

Advisory Board Secretary/Treasurer

My name is Angie Sullivan. I am the Treasurer and Secretary for the Board of Hospice of Northeast Missouri, which I have been a member for one year. I live in Kirksville with my husband, Jeremy and our 3 children.  I am grateful to be apart of this organization, as Hospice of Northeast Missouri helped our loved ones that were battling cancer. The staff were very caring and professional with both our loved ones and our family during a difficult time in our lives. That compassion motivated me to be apart of this wonderful organization in our community.

Mary Comstock

Mary joined the board in May of 2016. She is a retired educator who served as Treasurer and A+ Coordinator at Putnam County R-I. Her husband, Craig, also served as a board member of Hospice. They live at Lake Thunderhead in Unionville. Mary says, “Hospice helps so many area patients and families – through professionalism and compassion.”

Assistant Professor Emerita, Department of Nursing, Truman State University (1977-2019).  Over my tenure at Truman, I think I taught almost every nursing course offered! My favorites were Critical Care Nursing (my clinical interest area), Nursing Fundamentals and Assessment (students first REAL Nursing course) and Death and Dying (open to all Truman students). I am one of four siblings- three RN’s and one mortician, so we have had lively dinner conversations. I am also the daughter of a mortician, so death was a familiar conversation topic. I have had the privilege of being present at the passing of my mother and brother, and many patients during my clinical career.

I am a feline fanatic, with two aging furry friends at home, and a Trekker- have watched all the versions of Star Trek at least once! I am active with Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, and count on my faith to assist me through tough times. LIVE LONG AND PROSPER.
